Best Time of the YEAR!

>> Friday, February 27, 2009

This is the very best time of the year to enjoy the outdoors in and around Miami. Since the weather is much more pleasant temperature-wise, there are many things a family can do outdoors. For instance, bicycling around the many bike paths can bring the family closer to nature. I enjoy when my wife and I go out with our two children on our bikes. We can exercise and enjoy the wonderful weather. Also, what about going to one of the many parks in the Greater Miami Area...some even off the bay or water. Be sure to take some refreshments with you and, although not as prevalent, mosquito spray...don't want them nasty little critters to just take all the joy out of being outside.

We live near the bay with easy access to the Black Point Marina where, one day, we'll be able to take our boat out. All four of us also enjoy a nice drive down Old Culter Road. It is very scenic and natural. The large trees and deep folage make it a very pleasant drive...not to mention the chances we get during the drive to see parts of the ocean! There's also a county park called Matheson Hammock that we are planning on going paddleboating soon! See what I told you all, this is a great place to bring up a family.

Missed the opportunity to paddleboat. It started raining Sunday afternoon, but we made the best of the day inside our home watching TV and doing some chores. The temperature in Miami has dipped since last Monday...I guess those storm clouds on Sunday were a sure indication of it. It's very pleasant sweater weather...well, for us natives. I am sure that visitors from out of town, especially from up North, would consider this warm. We'll try again this weekend to enjoy the outdoors. By the way...the Dade County Youth Fair is hear on the 26th!!! Get your walking shoes, stomach and ride gear ready!
